The Patriots are infamous for winning. Under Belichick, the Patriots have a regular-season win/loss record of 225–79–0 over 19 seasons. Undoubtedly a dynasty on paper. It also helps to have arguably the best quarterback of all time but I digress. In reality however, the Patriots over the years have faced a number of scandals. From Spygate, down to them being accused of deflating footballs (deflategate).
Recently though, the Patriots are being accused of recording play-calls and the sideline of an opponent (The Cincinnati Bengals). According to the Patriots; the 'advanced scout' who was recording, was being filmed for a segment in the Patriots "Do Your Job" web series.
Reviews of the tape determine roughly 8 minutes of footage was recorded focusing on the Bengals sideline. This footage shows direct-view of play calls from coaches.
While it's not illegal to record the sideline, it has to be done from a specific area and this 'advanced scout' was failing to do so.
In this video, you can see the 'advanced scout' trying to explain to the Bengals security that the footage was just "field perspective shots" for the Patriots web series. Watch and determine yourself the validity of his alibi.
Let us know in the comments below whether or not the Patriots were aware of this, or if it was just an honest mistake.
